“A far reaching set of percussion solos from Germany’s bitzone on sweet teal c40 cassette”
For this project, I mainly used baking tins, plastic bottles, Boomwhackers, Caxixi, Udu and a lot of household items to create the rhythms. Later, I spiced things slightly up with bass, atmospheres, vocals & more.
Sonic Purse is an anagram of Percussion.

Please note the following comment on the album title and track “1212”: Radio 1212 was the name of a secret radio station during World War II. It was set up by the US Army to demoralize and confuse the German population and its troops. The announcers directed their messages to the fictional “New Germany Group” to feign the existence of an organized resistance against the Nazis.
We have translated parts of the original broadcast to show that destruction is not necessarily negative. It can be a gift for the present.

Honi soit qui mal y pense!
Three years after we released the album including “Mary From Rome”, the band Yello released a song called “Till Tomorrow”, featuring Till Brönner on trumpet.

A commissioned work for Sat1, a German television station. We composed a piece using voice samples from the presenters (e.g., Johannes B. Kerner or Werner Hansch).
We unexpectedly found our song “Toranto” on a compilation album alongside Queen, Mike & The Mechanics or Simple Minds.
At the time, we concealed our identity under the name ***act.V.T.
